Creating mechanical beings, from two animals...?

Here is my little Mechanical Porcupine/ Emu creation. We had to make a small sequence in a book relating the story to an island of sorts (mine was a pupil of someones eye. Just to be normal..ha)

I also created a 8 sided folded book, where it was to look interesting when folded out as well as folded together. 

Not one for 3D work, I manage to make the envelope shaped container for the two, and drew cogs and bolts all over with a dip pen and silver ink. I was proud ;)
